When you or your family members need a place to turn for mental health or substance abuse issues, your behavioral health program can help.
Emergency Health Situations
If you or a covered family member are in a life threatening health situation, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital.
The hospital will contact us through the toll-free number on your behavioral health benefit card, and a licensed professional staff member will assist you. In consultation with hospital staff, the LifeSynch® care manager will authorize the appropriate level of care.
Depending on your behavioral health benefit plan, it may be necessary to transfer you to a facility in the LifeSynch network.
To obtain behavioral health benefit services for you or family members covered by your health plan, please contact the toll-free Customer Service number on the back of your behavioral health benefit card or call 1- 800-777-6330. Be sure to select the behavioral health option. An associate will work with you to select an appropriate mental health or substance abuse provider. You may also search for providers using our online Provider Lookup.

How the Behavioral Health Benefits Program Works
Your behavioral health benefits program is coordinated by LifeSynch, a subsidiary of Humana. LifeSynch is an accredited behavioral-based solutions company.
LifeSynch Services Include:
- Providing access to a participating behavioral health network that includes individual providers, hospitals, and mental and substance abuse programs. To find a LifeSynch provider near you, use our online Provider Lookup.
- Coordinating your treatment and services, including hospitalization
- Acting as advocates who monitor your progress with your treating physicians and providers to help coordinate your care
- Providing assistance when you have questions or concerns involving your behavioral health
Participating primary care and specialist physicians and other providers in our behavioral health networks are not the agents, employees, or partners of Humana or any of its affiliates or subsidiaries. They are independent contractors. LifeSynch is not a provider of medical services. LifeSynch does not endorse or control the clinical judgment or treatment recommendations made by the physicians or other providers listed in behavioral health network directories or otherwise selected by you.
To be covered, expenses must be medically necessary and specified as covered.
