  • American Psychological Association – The APA Website search allows professionals to search for articles and information on a variety of disorders. Much of the information is available free of charge; some parts of the site charge either a one-time or per-use fee to view.
  • Depression – The Depression and Related Affective Disorders Association works with the Dept. of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University Medical School and is sponsored by providers, family members and patients dealing with depression or manic-depressive illness. Contains articles and a library of resources.
  • Expert Consensus Guideline – Written by the mental health professionals responsible for the DSM IV. Contains treatment guidelines for different disorders.
  • The Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement Article – Article presents step-by-step guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of major depression, panic disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. Provided by independent, non-profit organization ICSI, which provides healthcare quality improvement to 27 medical groups and is sponsored by by five Minnesota health plans -- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, HealthPartners and Medicare are primary sponsors.
  • Mental Health InfoSource – Searchable site offers many articles written by professionals regarding diagnosis and treatment of many different disorders. Includes quick links to information on disorders A-Z.
  • National Institute of Mental Health – Links to information for practitioners, including up-to-date information on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevalence of mental disorders and hand-outs for patients.
  • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Disaster Mental Health – Recommended for professionals involved in counseling disaster victims.
  • Counseling Disaster Victims – Information on mental health topics related to disaster including anxiety, PTSD, school violence, stress, and older victims.
